nanoXIM•CarePaste: A Breakthrough Ingredient for Advanced Oral Care

In today’s oral care market, innovation is paramount. When it comes to enamel repair, sensitivity relief, and even natural whitening, nanoXIM•CarePaste is setting a new standard.

What is nanoXIM•CarePaste?

This ingredient is a highly dispersed synthetic nano-hydroxyapatite (nano-HAp) aqueous suspension, containing 15.5% by weight of nano-HAp. Naturally found in tooth enamel, dentin, and bone, it is the ideal material for oral care formulations aimed at:

  • Reducing dental sensitivity;
  • Remineralizing and repairing enamel;
  • Whitening and smoothing of the tooth surface.

Its nano-sized particles and optimized morphology give it a significant performance advantage over traditional hydroxyapatite products, both in terms of efficacy and cost-effectiveness.

Smaller Particles, Bigger Results

One of the most common misconceptions in oral care formulation is assuming that all hydroxyapatite materials perform similarly. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

According to research by Fabritius-Vilpoux et al. (2019), particle size is critical for hydroxyapatite’s adhesion to enamel:

  • Particles smaller than 1.3 µm effectively adhere to enamel;
  • Larger particles, especially those above 5 µm, found in many commercial micro-HAp toothpastes, fail to bond properly.

nanoXIM•CarePaste features particles below 100 nm, typically even under 50 nm, making them about 25x smaller than the upper adhesion limit. This allows for exceptional enamel binding and remineralization efficiency at lower inclusion rates than conventional products.

Efficiency at Lower Concentrations

An in vitro study showed that the nano-HAp can effectively adsorb onto natural enamel surfaces at concentrations as low as 3–6% of nanoXIM•CarePaste, thanks to its small particle size and affinity with enamel.

This dose-dependent behavior means formulators can achieve clinically relevant performance without overcrowding their formulas, leaving space for additional functional ingredients.

No More Sting

In an in vitro study comparing 6% hydrogen peroxide whitening agents with andwithout 2% nano-HAp (equal to 13% nanoXIM•CarePaste), patients who received thenano-HAp treatment consistently reported less sensitivity.

Tests conducted one day after bleaching showed a 47% reduction in sensitivity for the nano-HAp group, with continued improvement seen over 14 days.

This study shows that nanoXIM•CarePaste reduced the sensitivity associated with the bleaching procedure and did not interfere with the hydrogen peroxide whitening treatment.

Superior Performance: A Real-World Comparison

A comparative study (Vijayasankari, 2018) tested a commercial toothpaste with 6.5% nanoXIM•CarePaste (1% nano-HAp) with two prototype fluoride-free toothpastes with 1% and 10% research-grade nano-HAp.

The results?

The toothpaste using nanoXIM•CarePaste vastly outperformed the 1% and matched the 10% research nano-HAp formulas when it comes to remineralization.

This highlights the superior bioavailability and efficacy of FLUIDINOVA’s nanoXIM•CarePaste, even at significantly lower concentrations than competing products.

Whitening That Works

A 2021 study by Shang & Kunzelmann compared the whitening effects of hydroxyapatite particles sized at 3 µm, 200 nm, and 50 nm (nanoXIM•CarePaste).

After a simulated 6-month use, the 50 nm particles produced significantly higher whitening results, confirming that nanoXIM•CarePaste is more effective fortooth-whitening than larger HAp alternatives.

Why nanoXIM•CarePaste Is the Smart Choice for Oral Care Formulations

  • Scientifically proven enamel binding and tubule occlusion
  • Effective at lower doses, reducing formulation cost
  • Superior whitening performance with small particle size
  • And this is all backed by multiple independent and comparative studies

Whether you're developing a sensitivity-focused toothpaste, a remineralizing solution, or a whitening product, nanoXIM.CarePaste offers unmatched efficacy and formulation flexibility.
